While actively eliminating backward coal production capacity, the coal industry strives to promote the merger and reorganization of coal enterprises and capacity reduction and replacement, speed up the release of high-quality production capacity, optimize the coal production structure, and constantly improve the quality of effective coal supply. In 2017, the country's raw coal output showed a restorative growth for the first time since 2014, with 3.52 billion tons of raw coal output completed, an increase of 0.11 billion tons or 3.3 percent over the same period last year.
