On October 18, 2011, the 11th (China) Beijing International Construction Machinery, Building Material Machinery, and Mining Machinery Exhibition & Technical Exchange Conference, BICES 2011, officially kicked off with great fanfare at the Jiuhua Mountain Villa in Beijing. Our company’s General Manager Zhang, General Manager Song, and General Manager Chen, along with the company’s technical and sales teams, were on hand to participate in the event.
On October 18, 2011, the 11th (China) Beijing International Construction Machinery, Building Material Machinery, and Mining Machinery Exhibition & Technical Exchange Conference, BICES 2011, officially kicked off with great fanfare at the Jiuhua Mountain Villa in Beijing. Our company’s General Manager Zhang, General Manager Song, and General Manager Chen, along with the company’s technical and sales teams, were on hand to participate in the event.
This year's exhibition saw the participation of virtually all of the major domestic and international construction machinery manufacturers, each placing significant emphasis on the event. Domestically renowned brands like XCMG, Sany, Zoomlion, Shantui, Sunward Intelligent Equipment, LiuGong, and Xiamen Heavy Industry were present, while internationally recognized names such as Caterpillar, Bobcat, Daemo, Atlas Copco, and Doosan also made their mark. Notably, emerging players like Chery Heavy Industry, China National Machinery Industry Corporation (CNMI) Heavy Industry, Melson Heavy Industry, and HELI Forklifts showcased their presence as well. These companies are all leading forces in the industry, and judging from their booth setups, product displays, and overall company activities at the show, it’s clear that each one is treating this event as a top priority. Meanwhile, the newly established CNMI Heavy Industry impressively unified its portfolio—comprising Changlin Shares, Tianjin Dingsheng, and Luoyang Lujian—under a single, cohesive exhibit. Even Chery Heavy Industry, making its debut at the expo, drew considerable attention with its eye-catching booth and compelling product offerings.
Looking at the major machine models, the eight traditional types continue to dominate the market: excavators, loaders, bulldozers, motor graders, cranes, pavers, rotary drilling rigs, and road rollers. Leading manufacturers have further solidified their strengths in their respective specialty models. For instance, Shantui, XuanGong, and First Machinery Group excel in bulldozers; DingShengTianGong, XCMG, and Sany lead in motor graders; XCMG and Sany are top performers in cranes; XCMG and Zoomlion shine in pavers; and XCMG, LiaoJian, and Shantui stand out in road rollers. These products not only boast comprehensive model lines but also feature high-end configurations, with key hydraulic components sourced from internationally renowned brands.
This exhibition saw the debut of several new products, with heavyweight tire rollers taking center stage as major roller manufacturers unveiled their latest models—most of which rely on hydrostatic drive systems, though a few still feature mechanical drives. Meanwhile, mining dump trucks have become the star attraction at this year's show, with companies like XCMG, LiuGong, Sany, Chery Heavy Industry, Terex, and Zhonghuan Power showcasing these vehicles as key offerings to visitors.
The Sauer-Danfoss booth showcased primarily the T90 series concrete mixer pumps, motors, gearboxes, electronic control systems, PVG valve assemblies, and steering systems. Although the number of exhibits wasn’t extensive, the display attracted a significant number of visitors and industry professionals—including nearly all of our existing customers, who stopped by to explore and engage in discussions. Additionally, attendees participated in Sauer-Danfoss’ training session on concrete mixers and their advanced electronic control systems, where key product technologies for Sauer-Danfoss mixers were highlighted, along with an overview of the range and applications of their electronic control products. Meanwhile, leaders from the Compaction Machinery Association shared insights into the current state and future trends of the compaction machinery industry.
The technical team was greatly inspired by this exhibition, gaining insights into cutting-edge technologies from around the world while also recognizing our own areas for improvement. Every evening, after returning to the hotel, team members reflected during their brief debriefing sessions, unanimously agreeing that they must incorporate the innovative ideas and breakthroughs discovered during the event into our future work—ultimately helping us deliver even greater value to our customers.
Through this exhibition, the sales team identified new growth opportunities in the market and also pinpointed our blind spots. Amidst the current slow performance growth in the construction machinery industry, we’ve clearly defined our next strategic goal. Everyone agrees that only by stepping out to gain deeper insights into the market and better understanding our customers can we ultimately turn challenges into breakthroughs—and find a winning path to achieve our goals and tasks for this year.
