Qi Jun, President of the China Construction Machinery Industry Association (hereinafter referred to as the Association), along with Executive Vice President and Secretary-General Su Zimen, Honorary President and Chief Advisor Han Xuesong, Vice President of the Machinery Industry Branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Zhou Weidong, Deputy Secretary-General of the Association and General Manager of Beijing Tianshihua International Exhibition Co., Ltd. Lü Ying, and Deputy Secretaries-General Wang Jinxing and Yin Xiaoli, attended the event. The press conference was chaired by Vice President Zhou Weidong.

At the press conference, the organizers announced that BICES 2019 will be held from September 4 to 7, 2019, at the new China International Exhibition Center (New Expo) in Beijing. Exhibition The event will also feature the 5th China-Beijing International Commercial Vehicle Expo, the China International Emergency Response and Disaster Relief Equipment Exhibition, the BICES China International Construction Machinery Innovation & Recommended Products Competition, and the "China Railway Construction Heavy Industry" Cup BICES China – 5th International Construction Machinery Exhibition. President Qi Jun of the association delivered a speech titled "2017 Industry Performance Summary and 2018 Industry Trend Forecast."
At the press conference, Chairman Qi Jun analyzed the 2017 performance of the construction machinery industry and outlined the development trends for 2018. He noted that after five years of thorough restructuring, China's construction machinery sector saw significant improvements in 2017. Sales Revenue reached 540.3 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year growth of 12.7%, while total exports amounted to $20.105 billion, up 18.5% compared to the previous year. Notably, sales of the association's key focus products surged by 45.6% in 2017, and from January to May 2018, sales continued to grow by another 35.6% year-on-year, with exports increasing by an impressive 40% over the same period—exceeding initial expectations. Meanwhile, data on the stock of construction machinery equipment as of the end of 2017 was also released. Data , and provide a trend forecast for the industry's performance in 2018. President Qi Jun anticipates that the industry will maintain a steady and positive growth trajectory in 2019, with the BICES exhibition continuing to attract strong interest. Su Zimeng shared that the BICES exhibition made its grand debut in Beijing, China's capital, back in 1989. Over the past three decades, BICES has steadily established itself in Beijing while expanding its reach across China and embracing a global perspective. Through continuous innovation, dedicated service, and relentless pursuit of excellence, the event has evolved into a leading platform for showcasing cutting-edge advancements in engineering construction equipment—and a vital benchmark for sustainable development in the industry. Today, BICES has become a premier stage where companies spanning the entire industrial chain—ranging from global construction machinery and building material machinery to mining equipment—can enhance their value, foster meaningful collaborations with users, and drive mutual growth. As a result, BICES has emerged as one of the most influential and impactful industry events on the global stage.
In 2019, as the entire nation celebrated the joyous 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, hosting the Beijing BICES took on an especially meaningful significance. Secretary-General Su Zimeng stated that the BICES 2019 organizing committee plans to focus on five key areas of work:
First, we will carefully plan a series of celebratory events to mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of our nation. BICES 2019 coincides with the lead-up to the 70th National Day of the People’s Republic of China, making it the perfect opportunity to leverage the BICES platform and showcase the industry’s remarkable achievements and the vibrant diversity of participating organizations—thus paying tribute to our country’s 70-year milestone. This not only underscores BICES’s proud heritage as an internationally recognized event deeply rooted in China but also imbues the exhibition with a profound sense of duty and solemn mission. To this end, the organizing committee is fully committed to going all out. While providing robust support to all exhibitors and relevant media outlets for their commemorative activities, we will also establish a dedicated exhibition area spotlighting the engineering machinery industry’s monumental accomplishments over the past 70 years. Through a variety of engaging formats—including photographs, display panels, and multimedia presentations—we’ll highlight, from both spatial and temporal perspectives, the industry’s extraordinary progress and breakthroughs during this pivotal era. In addition, we’ll host a series of related forums and launch the BICES Celebratory Awards Program, honoring outstanding entrepreneurs and industry leaders who have passionately shared their insights. The program will also recognize exemplary projects, leading enterprises, and renowned brands that have shaped the engineering machinery sector over the past seven decades.
Second, under the theme "Intelligent Connectivity for a Sustainable Future," we will carefully plan both indoor and outdoor exhibition areas and pavilions to showcase, in high quality and across all dimensions, the dynamic evolution of the engineering machinery industry in the new era. As the overarching theme of the expo, "Intelligent Connectivity for a Sustainable Future" fully embodies our organizers' unwavering commitment to embracing the five core development principles—innovation, coordination, green growth, openness, and shared prosperity—guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. This approach aligns seamlessly with China's "Made in China 2025" strategy and the Belt and Road Initiative, reflecting our determination to lead and accelerate the industry’s adoption of smart technologies while driving forward sustainable, eco-friendly practices. To better meet the needs of exhibitors and users, the organizing committee has prepared to introduce and enhance several distinctive exhibition zones and themed pavilions.

Outdoor Exhibition Area: A selection of leading, large-scale enterprises will showcase their cutting-edge, high-quality, and comprehensive product lines—ranging from smart technologies and eco-friendly solutions to advanced, heavy-duty equipment—alongside live equipment demonstrations and engaging event programming. Pavilion Dedicated to China's Strategic Industrial Equipment: This pavilion will showcase high-end machinery—such as advanced, high-tech, and high-quality equipment, tunnel boring machines, and excavation tools—highlighting the participating companies' capability and expertise in providing cutting-edge technological solutions to diverse user needs.

Green Development Pavilion: Featuring exhibits on low-emission equipment such as engines and Stage IV technologies, along with advanced emission-control technologies and systems, green construction practices, and remanufacturing processes, the pavilion highlights the latest innovations and achievements made by industry leaders in energy conservation, emissions reduction, and sustainable development.
4. Strong Foundation Project and High-End Supporting Theme Pavilion: This area showcases companies specializing in supporting industries for construction machinery, mining machinery, building material machinery, and related services. It highlights their recent breakthroughs and advancements in high-end components, essential parts, basic raw materials, fundamental process equipment, and technological infrastructure.
5. Smart Technology and Connectivity Pavilion: This pavilion will showcase cutting-edge innovations from renowned companies both at home and abroad, highlighting breakthroughs achieved through the integration of internet technologies, big data, cloud computing, and more—spanning areas such as smart thinking, intelligent processes, advanced manufacturing, innovative technologies, smart products, smart management, and seamless connectivity.
6. Emergency Rescue Equipment Exhibition: Highlighting the advancements and social responsibilities undertaken by various companies, this exhibition will showcase the latest achievements made in developing ice-and-snow and emergency rescue equipment—specifically tailored to support the Beijing Winter Olympics and broader emergency response needs.
7. High-Altitude Work Machinery Exhibition Area: This area will showcase the rapid rise and established market presence of renowned domestic and international brands in high-altitude work machinery.
8. Dedicated Zone for Construction and Road Maintenance Equipment: This exhibition area is specifically designed for users in low-emission zones such as Beijing and Xiong'an New Area, offering construction and road maintenance equipment buyers a range of options to upgrade their existing machinery.
9. Dedicated Zone for Parking and Parking Equipment: This area will showcase the rapid growth of this emerging sector in construction machinery, highlighting the technological and market strengths of the participating companies. Third, we are actively working to invite users and organize attendees. Experience has shown that the Beijing BICES exhibition uniquely excels at drawing in a large number of construction machinery users and visitors to the event venue. This is because key stakeholders and audiences—particularly headquarters of state-owned construction firms and major clients from Global Fortune 500 companies—are predominantly based in Beijing, making BICES naturally appealing to them. As we strengthen our efforts to attract attendees and boost the exhibition's overall influence, BICES continues to gain increasing recognition among both users and visitors.
