In May 2018, the 25 major domestic loader manufacturers included in the statistics collectively sold 11,187 loaders, representing a 31.2% increase compared to the 8,524 units sold in May of the previous year. Since March, loader sales have remained above 10,000 units for three consecutive months; year-to-date, cumulative sales have surpassed 55,000 units, marking a 36.6% rise compared to the same period last year.

In terms of tonnage, total sales of 3-ton and larger loaders in May reached 10,143 units, accounting for 90.7% of overall sales. Specifically, 5-ton loaders sold 7,325 units, representing 65.5%; 3-ton loaders accounted for 2,103 units, or 18.8%; and small loaders under 3 tons recorded sales of 1,044 units, making up 9.3% of the total.
In the first five months, a total of 49,278 loaders weighing 3 tons or more were sold, accounting for 89.1% of overall sales. Among these, 5-ton loaders accounted for the largest share, with 35,829 units sold—representing 64.8% of total sales—while 3-ton loaders made up 10,585 units, or 19.1% of the total. Additionally, small loaders weighing less than 3 tons recorded sales of 6,030 units.
Looking at the sales regions, Shandong Province led all other provinces in May with nearly 3,000 loader units sold. Jiangsu, Hebei, and Henan closely followed in second through fourth place, each selling around 2,300 units. Guangdong also surpassed 2,000 cumulative sales units in the first five months. Meanwhile, sales of loaders remained relatively low in cities like Shanghai, Hainan, Beijing, and Tianjin.
Next, let's look at export performance.
Overseas sales of loaders continued their growth momentum, with exports exceeding 2,000 units again in May, representing a year-on-year increase of 18.2%. Meanwhile, cumulative loader exports for the first five months surpassed 10,000 units, marking a robust 36.4% rise compared to the same period last year.

The export models of loaders are also primarily 5-ton and 3-ton machines, with 4,789 units and 3,390 units exported in the first five months, accounting for 48% and 34% of the total export volume, respectively.
